Team Overview
Founded in 1999 by co-owners Tim Hanes and Mike Walker, PaceSetter Construction is a multi-state general contractor focused on light commercial construction across the Southeast. Our core work includes restaurants, retail, automotive service facilities, and other fast-paced commercial environments. Over the last 25 years, we have delivered more than 300 quick service restaurant projects and continue supporting national brands with consistent and repeatable results.
With decades of combined experience, our leadership team guides clients from early project development through design coordination, budgeting, value engineering, and full construction delivery. We understand the speed, accuracy, and operational demands of franchise and retail work, and we structure our teams to meet those expectations every time.
Our field operations are led by qualified superintendents who manage safety, quality, and daily coordination, supported by project managers who oversee scheduling, procurement, and financial control. This alignment keeps communication tight, minimizes delays, and ensures each project stays on track.

The welfare of our team and partners is a core priority and is built into the way we plan, coordinate, and execute our work. Safety is not accidental. We maintain a strong culture of safety by consistently implementing the practices, procedures, and policies outlined in our comprehensive safety manual. All jobsites are maintained as drug free and alcohol free environments to protect the health, focus, and well being of our teams and subcontractor partners.
Every employee and subcontractor plays a critical role in creating a safe and healthy workplace. Safety expectations are clearly communicated and enforced, and all subcontractors are required to follow our standards at all times. Through accountability, training, proactive planning, and daily awareness, we strengthen our performance and support a jobsite culture where preparation and responsibility guide every task.

PaceSetter Construction is committed to a safe, professional, and productive work environment. We maintain a drug free and alcohol free workplace to protect our team, our clients, and the integrity of every project we deliver. Safety is a shared responsibility, and every employee is expected to demonstrate sound judgment, personal accountability, and a commitment to a healthy work culture.
All employees are subject to pre employment screening and random drug and alcohol testing as needed. These measures reinforce our expectations for reliability, integrity, and consistent performance.
Any employee who violates this policy or receives a positive screening result will be removed from the jobsite and subject to further disciplinary action. Upholding this standard ensures a trusted workforce and supports our mission to keep every team member safe each day.
Subcontractor Expectations
Our subcontractors are essential partners in every project we deliver. Each firm is carefully prequalified to ensure they meet project requirements, performance expectations, and client standards. Once selected, they become part of our planning efforts and are integrated into the strategy for a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
Safety is a shared responsibility. Every subcontractor is expected to follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean and controlled work area, and ensure their teams are trained, equipped, and fully prepared to work safely. Their commitment to safety directly impacts the success of the entire project and the protection of every person on site.
